The car had no rattles for the first few months until spring time rolled around. The dealer claims they took it for a 30min test drive and could not hear anything. It happens all the time and not from driving over bumps. It sounds more like when the frame of the car is twisting like approaching a ramp at an angle. The sounds occur when driving on the freeway or in the city and in hot and cold weather.
We will get the dealer to reassess next time we bring it in.
When I bought my car it was purchased late in the evening, so I drove it straight home. The next day I had time to really drive it around and get to know it. That's when I realized there was a plastic flexing/rattle sound coming from the rear drive deck/seat area. It was hard for me to diagnose what was causing it as I can't do anything about it while I drive.
I had this noise diagnosed by a Hyundai technician at the dealership, and they determined that the sound was coming from the rear driver's side headliner. They took the headliner section out and used a rattle repair kit which included some foam to eliminate the noise. After replacing and test driving they confirmed the noise was gone.
I'm much happier after having this taken care of. I now have a quiet, enjoyable ride when I drive.
