problem #3

Sonata Limited 2.4L Gas

  • Automatic transmission
  • 8,000 miles

Dealer had no idea, it would clear itself when engine was restarted but finally while going home from dealer it did it so I turned around and went back leaving car running, no codes. Finally after a week dealer was allowed to replace sensors and 6000 miles later it still works fine.

This has been the most troubled car we have ever owned so when this lease is up the car will go back to them.

Sonata Sport 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission

It all started with the blind spot monitor warning light going off back in I believe November. Took the car into the dealership, they had it for a full weekend. Result of that trip was a new fuse for what they thought was a short in the system. About two months go by and the light goes off again, so back to the dealership I go. This time they had the car about 4 days and replaced what I was told was the entire control unit for the BSM system. They said it was a $2000 part and $3000 in labor. They put it back together, take it out for a drive and it's still not fixed apparently. So the next step was ordering a new side mirror for the left side of my car. I pick my car up and wait a couple days for the mirror to come in, then take it back to the dealership. They had it for two days, painted the new mirror to match my car and then everything was ok for about a week. Next thing I know I'm on my way home from the grocery store and my windows quit working so I can't roll my drivers side window up, and the BSM light goes off on my dash again! So I drop the car off that night and they get me into a rental. They had the car a full week this time and replaced the ENTIRE wiring harness in my car. Everything seems to be in proper working order this time, but we'll see what happens... I'm not mad at the dealership at all, but having bought a brand new 2015 Hyundai I would have expected ZERO issues. Not looking to file a lawsuit by any means but this issue was a huge inconvenience for me, so it would be nice to hear something from corporate.

Sonata Limited 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 4,500 miles

Driving on the highway one day, all of a sudden, my dash lights up amber with a warning that my BSM is not functioning. It was working fine before this, then just shut off.

I drove the car home with the light on, and restarted the car, and the system started to work again. Two weeks later, at 6AM in the morning, and on the highway, the system shut itself off again.

Seriously?
