This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
While driving multiple indicator lights on the dash came on, (brake, ABS, tractions control, steering, seat belt, air bag and check engine lights.) T highway speed the transmission shifted into 1st gear and I was forced to exit the road immediately. I safely came to a stop and shut the vehicle off. I then restarted it and then I was able to safely get home. I then called aaa and had the car towed to my mechanic. My mechanic found that they could not communicate with most modules/computers that are in the car. After hours of testing, they discovered that the back up camera was corrupting the computer data lines and essentially shutting down crucial modules in the vehicle. Once the camera was removed from the car, the vehicle operations returned to normal. Please advise Hyundai of this issue, so other motorists can be spared this frightening experience. I will provide the invoice for repair and the failed part, which I have in my possession, if you need. Please contact me for further information.
On March 3, 2016 I was driving to work and was hit on the drivers side door by another vehicle causing thousands of dollars in damage. The other driver crossed the street from one parking lot to the other and that is when my vehicle was hit. The air bags did not deploy. My vehicle was in motion on a city street and the vehicle that hit my vehicle was also in motion. L will not be supplying any reports such as police reports. I would like to email it along with any other documentation you require. Please advise if this is all right to do and what email address to send it to and if there is a reference number. Thank you.

On October 25, me and my wife were traveling on a local street and were blindsided by a car. The car struck us on the driver side front which caused the driver side curtain airbags to deploy. The force of that hit caused us to plow into a concrete barrier wall head on. At this time, the front airbags deployed. However my wife's airbag, the passenger side, exploded immediately causing visible burns to my wife's neck and chest. Upon emergency room exams and follow-up doctor evaluations, the diagnoses was that my wife sustained second-degree chemical burns to her neck and chest, which will require skin grafts from a plastic surgeon.
