The contact owns a 2014 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that on various occasions, the brake lights and turning signals failed to illuminate as designed. The contact stated that she replaced the bulbs seven times; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the taillight wiring harness assembly had melted and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 20,000.
Tail lights continually kept burning out. Eventually, after a few installs, tht last one melted requiring they full assembly to be replaced. The first side went out on the right a couple of years prior, this year the left side did the same thing. The smell of burning was noticed, and found the cause from the tail light.
The contact owns a 2014 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that the brake bulb burned out and the socket appeared brown and melted. The vehicle was taken to the Liberty Hyundai dealer, located at: 305 NJ-17, Mahwah, NJ 07430 and the contact was informed to replace the brake lamp bulbs with original manufacturer recommended brake lamp bulbs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The bulb was not replaced. The failure mileage was approximately 43,000.
