Both my wife and I had gotten into the car and turned the key, only to have the engine not turn over. All of the appropriate dash lights and devices come on and there is no spin of the engine. After, clicking the door lock button, on the remote, on and off, and after several minutes, the engine finally turns over. On this day my wife stopped to get gas and she could not get the car to start. I hurried to her location and hooked up my jumper cables and the car started. I drove the car home and charged the battery for several hours, but the same problem re-occured. My tester says that the battery is fine and that the charging system is good.
Next I will check the electrical starter relay switch to see if it is clicking over to see if it is sometimes sticking. After that I will take it to the dealer for diagnostics.
This starting problem has happened to us 4 times now and I have read of so many other going though this same problem. Too many times they gone to the Hyundai Dealer and have gotten no conclusive diagnostics, or were given the wrong repair.
The Hyundai dealers need to have information for this problem available to their clientele so that they can readily fix it, or so that they can have Hyundai repair shops able to quickly repair this type of problem.
People can not afford to repeatedly miss work, or other important things in there lives unnecessarily.
