Took my 2013 Sonata in for another recall inspection on Nov 3, 2017 and oil change, told them my car sometimes does not go in reverse and after shifting to park and back to reverse it would reverse. Their report said "cannot verify concern found reverse engaging as designed, performed scan found no codes" Next day my car will no longer go in reverse. Took it back the following Friday for another inspection, report says" verified concern found no reverse engagement, inspect transmission fluid found dark and smells burnt, recommend transmission at the time." Why wasn't the transmission fluid checked the first time? Estimated repair:
7.9 hours to repair at $140 hr. plus parts $1710.48 total for repair including trans fluid and diagnostic $3167.21.
I bought it from dealer as second owner, it does not fall under warranty per Hyundai. 90,400 miles
