"takata recall" case # 11315399. Passenger brake light is inoperative. Hyundai dealership service department determined that both tail lamp housing is warped and in need of replacement. Hyundai customer service representative further explained to me that the cause of this condition occurring is that the housing socket heats up and is the cause of the warping. I brought this to the dealership attention about a possible electrical defect on numerous occasions. I filed a complaint with Hyundai usa good will department and requested that they repair the vehicle, they declined based on the warranty expiration. The tail lamp housing warping on any vehicle is not a normal occurrence during the life of a vehicle. Further, Hyundai is aware of this problem. They have been requiring customers to pay for the repairs on affected vehicles. The consumer should be able to replace the lamp bulb and not the lamp housing as a general wear and tear operation. I presently have a vehicle that I can not drive due the exorbitant cost to correct the problem. I am requesting that your department investigate this matter in order to generate a recall on this vehicle for defective tail lamp or wiring housing problem.

Was driving on the expressway, going 55 mph approaching my exit, when my 2013 Sonata gls began to shake, my eps light illuminated and the car stopped on me completely, then all my indicator lights popped on as the car began to just coast with limited steering ability. Luckily I was on my exit and coasted it downhill to a residential block. Tried jumping it thinking it was a battery problem and even replaced the battery. Vehicle still wouldn't turn on. Contacted Hyundai after this because my vehicle only had 65,000 miles on it.

While I was driving on the freeway going 65mph, the vehicle began to make a ticking sound with no warning or indicator lights being illuminated. The vehicle then began to lose power and would not accelerate past 2000rpm. I then pulled off of the freeway and went into a parking lot as soon as my vehicle stopped all of the indicator and warning lights illuminated and the car shut off. When restarting the car the ticking is now alot worse and the car shuts off right away. I then had the vehicle towed to my house and I am having it towed to the Hyundai dealer for inspection.

Both taillights failed. The brake light bulbs melted and fused the bulb to the socket housing for both tailights. The other bulbs also show signs of extreme heat damage as the light bulbs are burned black and the plastic near the light bulb is all black. I was informed my taillights were out while driving at night.

While pulling into a busy intersection my car decided to dive out. The warning sign 'hybrid system warning /pull over safely and stop driving' 'check power charging' came on and my car came to a halt. I was pressing the gas but couldn't accelerate only cruise over to a parking lot. That is extremely dangerous had I been on the interstate and could have caused a terrible accident for a car to all of a sudden slow down and stop. All fluids are full and we can't deternine the source of this

Takata recall when I cut on my head lights shorty after that my rear lights go out and the only ones to work are the 3 brake lights when the brake is pressed. I can cut the headlights off then on again and it does the same thing over and over. Car is stationary. I was driving to work the other morning in the dark and when I pulled out of driveway everything worked got down the road and the entire rear end quit working except the brake lights. I put on my right turn signal and my license plate bulbs started blinking then shorty went out after a minute.

When using breaks it causes bulb socket to melt housing, etc and break light stops working over and over. The rear break light keeps burning out and melting inside the socket. You have to change whole socket because the bulb just melts and you can not remove. Im afraid my car is going to catch fire.

Car key will get stuck at ignition due the car's electrical shifter malfunction. The car's electrical shifter has a safety feature that locks the key in while the car is out of "park", but when it is malfunctioning, it will not release the key at all. Drivers will have no choice but leave car key in the car's ignition and it causes hazards to minors or child in the house or on the streets because key can still start the car without problem, also doors can not be locked when the key is stuck in ignition. It has been happening a few times, but Hyundai refused to admit manufacturer's part defect. Many people have the same issue and seeking for help online or from youtube. It is not safe for drivers with kids. Please help.
