The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that the front driver and passenger side seat belt buckles were too low to reach. The contact stated that she had to reach down below the center console to reach the buckle, making it harder to set or release the seat belt. The contact asked the manufacturer for an extension to the buckle and was told that there was not an extender available. The contact also stated that the passenger side seat could not be raised once it was reclined, causing the passenger to sit with their face directly in front of the air bag compartment. The manufacturer was contacted and advised the contact that the vehicle was operating as designed. The failure mileage was 8 and the current mileage was 2,712.
