CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2011 Sonata has a seriously defective engine that seizes without warning. It was awarded the dubious honor of being the first CarTalk / CarComplaints Turd of the Week in late September 2015.
A class action lawsuit was filed in May 2015 against Hyundai that claims the 2.4L Sonata engine is defective. More info here.

replace both rear tail light assemblies (1 reports)
I noticed my passenger rear tail light assembly had popped out, checked driverside and it was also popping out not as bad though. Took car to mechanic and he checked them and both assembly's plastic cupping were broken off (??) My car had not been hit , this is a mystery... especially weird that both went at the same time. This must be a defect of some kind as this just happened...I was just in my trunk the day before and tail lights were fine. I feel pretty helpless as I read 2 other on line complaints of this happening to other's with same year and make as my car. Apparently the Hyundai dealerships would not cover this fix.
