CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2011 Sonata has a seriously defective engine that seizes without warning. It was awarded the dubious honor of being the first CarTalk / CarComplaints Turd of the Week in late September 2015.
A class action lawsuit was filed in May 2015 against Hyundai that claims the 2.4L Sonata engine is defective. More info here.
A few months ago (April fools?) the lighting system started acting funny. We always used the auto feature but then we noticed the lights did not go off. We stopped using the Auto feature and turned the lights off manually. Now, the fooking parking lights won't turn off and the battery drains overnight.
Searches of multiple forums suggest it is the driver side fuse block that needs to be replaced. WTF? Part cost alone is almost $500. WTF?
