This complaint goes along with another complaint. The original complaint is that there is an extreme amount of sludge build up in and on the oil filter, its canister, and which in turn also has now built up in the motor. Which is all causing a ticking noise from the motor. Since the mechanic at the dealership won't touch the car to find out where the noise is coming from because of the filter covered in sludge (mind you, an oil change was done 5 days prior) which means they will not cover it under warranty, and means the engine needs a rebuild, hence $7000.00 job... we cant get the car fixed. Since we have to drive the car due to no choice in this matter, all of a sudden in the middle of a 10 mph acceleration the car just died. No noises, no hiccups, no warning, no nothing... and the car just died. Now we have a car that is sitting in our driveway that wont even turn over or make any noise like it is trying to turn over. Is it the starter, the alternator... What the hell is wrong with this car. Thanks Hyundai for taking the time out to do nothing about this major issue not only we are having but thousands of others. The car has been properly maintained since day once, it is still being paid off, and has the extended warranty on it. But somehow the car is not even being evaluated.
