My sunvisor on the drivers side dropped down and will not go back to the upright position. This is the third time my sunvisor has broken. One on the passenger side and twice on the drivers side. I have spent 100 dollars replacing the other side. I do not have any children in my car, it is just myself and my husband. This is ridiculous that it broke for no apparent reason. I have a 2004 Hyundai elantra and have never had problems with the visors.

2007my Sonata sun visor replacement (service campaign T74), Feb.2009. www.myhyundaiforums.com/09-01-003.pdf I would like to know why Illinois is not included in this replacement campaign, it is your car that I purchased and obviously this is a Hyundai defect. I have a 2007 Sonata, 60+ miles; the visor broke in June 2012. I called the dealer to get a price for the replacement and was quoted $101.61, for 1 sun visor! after reading complaints about this issue, I would think they would do a recall and fix the problem for free for all states. What guarantee do I have that this wouldn't happen again within 6-12 months after the replacement, will I have to keep replacing it due to a Hyundai defect? this is not good for future business!

Driver's side sun visor is defective and is creating a dangerous situation.the visor began dropping from the "up" position toward the ceiling. It would not stay up. Its bottom was right at my line of vision. I took the car to the Hyundai dealer and had missed the bumper to bumper 5 yr. Or 60K warranty by 3 days! they said it would cost $100 to replace and install. Today while driving my husband was trying to move it out of his line of vision and we heard a noise and the whole thing just lost all it's support. He was able to take it off and we were hoping to find screws we could just tighten, but that wasn't the case. Now, with it just hanging it interferes with my view and is a hazard. There needs to be a recall on these!!! I don't have $100 to spend on a manufacturer defect. From what I've read online, this has been a constant problem for the sonota. The only other Hyundai owner is my neighbor; they had the same thing happen on their new car. Can you help us"??"

The passenger visor will not stay up and although this is not a safety hazard, I have been told (by Hyundai service) that this is a wide spread problem in the vehicles for both the passenger and driver visor. I looked this up and found that there are many complaints about the visors and it should be a recall item.

I am writing to complain that both of my sun visors in my 2007 Hyundai Sonata will not stay in the upright position. From researching this problem it sounds like I am among thousands of Hyundai Sonata owners having the very same issue. I contacted my local Hyundai dealership and they said this item is not covered by the warranty, or extended warranty, and the cost will be over $100 each! this is ridiculous. This is a safety issue, and I believe that it should be a covered item, or better yet, it should be a recalled defect!! thank you.

The sun visor on driver side fell down will not stay up. The sun visor on passenger side was replaced at last service and within warranty. Manually have the extension slide bar hitting rear view mirror in order to have visor stay out of driving view interference but does not block the bright sun light now. Google and bing searches this is a known defect with the heat and design of the sun visors.

Both sun visors on my 2007 Sonata broke within weeks of each other. They will not stay up. They broke after 60,000 miles so they are no longer under warranty. After reading on the internet about the number of drivers who had the same problem from 2006 to 2008, Hyundai should have had a recall. Knowing they had a problem back in 2006 and allowing this problem to go on for 2 more years is irresponsible and the Hyundai car sompany should be made to replace all the defected sun visors.

Sun visor does not stay in poition and drops which blocks vision. Safety issue. Manufacturer will charge for repair but this is clearly an defective part issue, as there is a recall if you live in southern states.

Passengers sun visor broke and fell down distracting driver. Search on internet finds many complaints of same issue and even "service bulletins" addressing the problem but only in certain states and of course in the warranty period for years/mileage. Not feeling real confident in Hyundai fixing it based on past experience with dealer and that I'm out of warranty. Shouldn't be long before the drivers one falls down also. Maybe it will cause a crash, maybe not. This should definitely be a recall item to replace all of them once the design is changed.

About a year ago the sun visor on the passenger side would not stay in the up position. I checked for any recalls, but there were none. Now the driver side sun visor no longer will stay in the up position. I have researched and discovered that there are many complaints online about this problem occurring with many other 2007 Sonatas. I think most people are not aware that they can file a complaint online here about this problem. Visibility is a constant problem as the visor will not stay up and makes driving difficult. Hyundai has not responded favorably to my inquiries. How many complaints does it take before this type of problem is resolved by Hyundai/ thank you for your time.

My 2007 Sonata driver's sunvisor locked up at around 58000 miles and when I attempted to lower it the internal components of the sunvisor broke loose causing the sunvisor to drop down in my line of sight while driving. If raised out of my line of vision it would drop unexpectedly, blocking my line of sight leaving me in danger of hitting another car or person. I took my car to the Hyundai dealer and they replaced the sunvisor at no cost to me. Approximately 4 months later the passenger side sunvisor did the same thing. Once again I returned to the Hyundai dealer and they replaced the passenger side sunvisor at no cost to me. At 90000 miles the driver side sunvisor once again locked up with the same resulting malfunction occurring. This time the Hyundai dealer said my car was out of warranty and it would cost me $160 to have it replaced. This is a terrible safety hazard to have the sunvisor drop down with out warning blocking your line of sight while driving in heavy traffic. A recall should be done since while surfing the web I discovered many people have encountered the same problem.

The driver side and passenger side sun visors fail to stay in the upright position. This is very distracting for the driver and can block the driver's vision. After investigating similar problems on the internet, the 2007 Sonata seems to have a very high failure rate on the sun visors. The plastic part (not metal) that is responsible for holding the sun visor upright is not designed well enough to function as intended. Passenger failed at 40K miles and the driver at 80K miles.

Both passenger and driver sun visors will not stay in the up position, and obstructing the vision of the driver. I have contacted the local dealer and Hyundai and have been advised that there is a product recall on the 2006 Hyundai Sonata for this same problem, but not for the 2007 Sonata. I can not afford to cover this repair as it is over $100 per visor.

The passenger side sun visor's control arm cracked and no longer stays locked in any position. It flops down and hangs loosely. We need to use a safety pin to lock it up out of the driver's line of sight. At around 40,000 miles, the driver side visor also failed.
