I took the car in for a recall/warranty repair on 3/28/2021. The part (seatbelt/airbag sensor/pre tensioner) has still not been delivered to the dealer so that they can repair the vehicle. The part being defective prevents the airbag sensor from operating correctly and, as such, the airbags will not work in the event of a collision. This car is my daily driver and has largely been parked idle for 12 months. For the entire year, I have been fighting with their corporate customer support team and there has been no progress whatsoever on securing the part. They have given me numerous dates for the part to arrive. None of them have been met. No new date has been provided. The dealer blames Hyundai Corporate, Hyundai Corporate blames the 'distribution centre' and so on. The car is unsafe with no airbags and there is no resolution in sight.

The air bag sensor in my car is defective. This was already a recall by Hyundai, but for reasons I don't understand does not include my car and I believe it should have. It is the right make, model, and year the original recall included. Apparently the seatbelt tension adjuster is also involved in my case.

My mechanic advised me of airbag code B1448 and advised me he rad my VIN to check any open recalls. He stated my VIN is not in airbag recall related to this code but that there were aibag OCS codes on that model year which came up B1448 that were covered. I cobtacted Hyundai North America and went over with them a series of questions relating to the vehicle. Hyundai advised me that I may be covered by vehicle passenger OCS recall. Dealership refused to diagnose without a charge. Also tried to instead sell a battery despite being new one. Contscted Hyundai North America again and referred me out but stated while this is recall it doesnt apply to VIN. I am not going to deal with intermediary however, I chose to deal with you directly to resolve what personal mechanic is telling me is an absolute model year code recall thst just happened not to include my VIN.

The power seat switch is defective. It will not move backward, only forward, which makes the car unsafe to drive if the seat cannot be moved to a safe driving position. Hyundai previously released a campaign called campaign T82 to address this defect but as of today is stating they will not repair it. I spoke with a dealer (global Hyundai) and with the Hyundai corporation and they both denied any knowledge of the defect.

There is a recall #083 (08V161000) that is exactly my issue. The airbag light stays on and it was diagnosed as the passenger seat sensor that is causing the issue. The cost of repair is $1500. Spoke with Hyundai and they advised that my car was not marked for recall. We have spoken with a number of junk yards thinking we could obtain a used seat to correct this issue. We have been advised that this issue is wide spread and they cannot keep seats in stock due to the seat sensor issue. I cannot pass my state inspection without this fix. I find it difficult to understand that my car is not covered by this recall. Please register this complaint and let me know if I have any other recourse. Vehicle was taken to Hyundai because the airbag light was illuminated, and the passenger seat belt reminder light would blink when no one was in the seat. After a diagnostic test, the dealership advised this was due to a faulty airbag sensor in the passenger seat, that was part of the actual seat. The replacement seat cushion was going to cost upwards of $1200, with the installed price of over $1500! after looking at the NHTSA complaints, I saw I am not the only one who has had this problem. A quick google search also showed a plethora of other complaints in regards to this issue. There is obviously a major issue with the sensors/airbag/seat belt system in these vehicles, and I am hoping a recall will be issued. Hyundai could not tell me if this issue would affect my airbag system or not. Thank you.

Had airbag light stay on and got seatbelt buckle replaced under recall. Now one month later airbag light is on and I'm told it is bad sensors inside the seat. These cars have poor engineering. We can't even rely on airbags, since they won't work when the light is on for bad sensors.

Took the car into the shop for an airbag light. They said that it was a bad oc mat sensor. I was quoted $1000+ for parts and labor. I asked why this wasn't covered under the recall because my car was in the range 06-07, they said my VIN did not indicate an active recall. I called corporate and they also said I was sol. This is something that needs to be fully recalled, far too many of them are failing and Hyundai refuses to do anything about them.

The contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Sonata. The drivers seat would sway from side to side. The dealer informed him he would have to contact the manufacturer before any repairs could be performed on the vehicle. Upon contacting the manufacturer, he was advised that the dealer relayed to them that there were no failures with the drivers seat. He was told a representative would further inspect the vehicle; however the dealer refused to contact the representative. The contact was awaiting the arrival of parts in order to have the repairs performed. He was concerned with the possibility of injury in the event of a crash, due to the failure. The failure mileage was 31,000 and the current was unknown.
