The chrome plating on the front passenger side door handle is peeling back and creating a hazard. Two people cut their hands on it before we finally duct-taped it up. No more cuts, but it looks like crap.
This particularly irritates my wife. The paint is coming off the exterior door handles and it really detracts from the overall appearance of the car. Also affects potential resale value...
The outdoor and indoor handles, as well as the paint job above the outdoor handle, are peeling. The indoor handle is a minor safety issue, as the peeling chrome is sharp.
I had an 02 Sonata and it did the same thing as my 05 sonata with the paint coming off of all the door handles. But when I complain about it they tell me paint is only covered for 3 years/36000miles and both cars started this around 38000 miles or right after the 3 year period. When I traded in my 02 for the 05 they docked me for the UGLY door handles and I told them it wasn't my fault the do that at the 3 year mark. I got my 05 and it did the same thing! Right about 38000 miles and I see it on alot of Sonatas so it's not just me!
