Santa Fe Sport SUV Theta 2.4L

We received a letter 18 months before engine locked up stating 2018 Santa Fe Theta 2.4 Engine would eventually lock up and they had set aside millions of dollars for settlement of replacing the engines that were locking up and blowing out Carburators, and destroyed the engine. Then it took them 3 weeks (the 1st time) to do a diagnostic test on it before they would work on it, and the Valdosta Dealership said it wasn't their fault, but that it was some other problem. We then had it towed 350 miles to Rick Case Hyundai in Duluth, which was closer to house, and they took 6 weeks to diagnose it and charged us $425.00 to tell us something that was a total lie again, so I had talked to a Rep. in California at their home office, told her we would get a 3rd opinion by a trusted auto mechanic that we used for 10 years, etc., and she said "Oh no, you can't do that because we only use our diagnosis and not any outsider opinions". At that time when I told her R.C. Hyundai wanted $7,400.00 to put a "Rebuilt" engine in, she said there wasn't anything she could do about that! Apparently this is since the 2018 Santa Fe Sport hadn't been "Recalled" by the corporation.

Meanwhile we talked to a law firm, which started in April, 2022, and since it was 12/27/2021 since car had broken down, then the law firm dropped the case because they even said that we didn't have a "Recall" letter for that Santa Fe even though the 2016 and 2017 had the exact same engines built in them, and they were recalled!! In February while we hadn't got hardly anyone to call us from Hyundai Corp., we got a "Recall" that the brakes would catch on fire eventually, and when my husband had asked them if they could replace them, they said they didn't have the parts!!

So by the end of May when we finally heard from someone that we thought would give the go ahead to replace engine, we were told if we didn't get our car out of their parking lot, they were going to have it impounded and to come and get it that day!! So we had it towed to our driveway and I still cannot spend $7,400.00 out of pocket for something these bunch of crooks should replace, since it's their fault!!
