April 17th 2023 my cars decelerate, wouldn't accelerate above 60 mph and would randomly decelerate as low as 15mph. The check engine lightvwas constantly flashing and the rmp wouldn't go above 2. I called motorworld and Hyundai. Motorworld said I needed a knock sensor replacement. They replaced the knock sensor. I called Hyundai again to see if I could be reimbursed. They said no. Hyundai then told me that because I paid to replaced the knock sensor my engine was now covered for life. A I ri 14th 2023 the exact same thing happened to my car again. I had it towed to motorworld. A week later I was told that they recommended an $800 oil consumption test because they said the oil was very low. I told them that my oil light never came on. The car was failing. I told the that I just had an oil change and that I thought the prior mechanic cheated me out of oil because my oil light came on 2 weeks after getting an oil change. This whole week I've been going back and forth with Hyundai re: this problem with is noted on websites. I was told that there is nothing they can do. I asked them to replace the motor. This is an engine problem and the engine is covered under power transmission and because I paid to replace the knock sensor. However it is not the knock sensor. The car did what it was supposed to do if tge engine is in danger of failing. So why did the charge me $583 for the knock sensor replacement and now they want me to pay $800 for an oil consumption test. It's obvious that the vehicle is consumption oil. There are no oil leaks. I spoke with Hyundai again yesterday. I told her that Hyundai needs to replace the engine and I feel that they stalling and putting me in danger. If this happens again I'm in danger, especially on the highway. Motorworld called to confirm that I was told on several occasions that because I paid for a knock sensor my engine is under warranty for life. Motorworld tod her that it's not. This occurred in April and again 5/14/23

Engine is burning 1-2 quarts of oil per 1000 miles. Car was purchased new and this problem began at the 86,000-87000 milage. Mark. Problem confirmed by my mechanic and a dealership mechanic. Car has been regularly serviced by my independent service center. Regular inspections have been conducted in order to renew tags. Oil lamp warning and emmission light warning came on at the onstart of this just as oil change was due. Car was found to be very low on oil, with no leaks being found. Within days, oil light came on again and emmissions. Have had oil consumption test run at dealership and waiting to see if Hyundai is going to honor warranty. Meanwhile, dealership is trying to convince me to trade in my car for a new car.

Driving my 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport and began hearing occasional rattling noises in engine. Engine light came on - so I made an appointment to take car to API Repair Shop. Next day engine light began to blink and car stalled and started up only to stall again, before starting up. Drove home and parked car. Had it towed to API for diagnostic test. They determined there was a problem in the oil line. They dropped the oil pan to fine pieces of metal. They stopped working on the car immediately and looked up reports to find there was a Hyundai recall for engine problems. (same as described above only some engines caught fire). API had car towed to Jones Hyundai in Bel Air. Jones Hyundai refused to honor the warranty or fix the recall saying another repair shop 'tampered with the engine'. API says they only dropped the oil pan in an effort to diagnose the problem. API made me aware of the recall which I was never notified by Hyundai. API said it has to be a certified Hyundai dealer to fix recalls - which is why we towed it to the nearest dealer, yet Jones Hyundai in Bel Air is refusing to fix the problem. They said they will not touch the car. How can they refuse to fix a recall - under the law aren't they obligated to replace the defective part?

I have encountered 2 issues that can lead to engine failure: 1- Crack in the Oil Pan, 2- High oil consumption leading to engine failure. 1 - I took my vehicle in for the 5,000 mile oil change Jan 11, 2023. I also told them that my engine was idling rough when I was sitting still. After an hour wait, I was told the oil level was very low and the technician had found a crack in the oil pan near the oil drain plug. I was showed the crack in the pan and allowed to take pictures. They had a pan in stock and replaced the pan. My odometer reading for the service was 87,476. 2 - On March 25, 2023 I checked my oil level and the dip stick showed I was 2 quarts low. The odometer reading at that time was 90,826. I added 2 qts of oil. In retrospect my engine had starting idling rough about 2 weeks before I had to add the 2 qts of oil. The engine ran smoother after the oil was added. I have pictures of the odometer reading and the dip stick. I went into the dealership on March 27, 2023 and told service advisor about the problem. They couldn't get me in until Mon. April 3, 2023. Odometer was reading 91,146. The 90,000 mile service was done and I was told my engine was consuming a lot of oil. I am now in the process of getting Hyundai to approve an Oil Usage Test. If it fails, the dealership told me Hyundai would replace the engine.

The acceleration of the vehicle from a stop. Whether from a stop sign, stop light, even sometimes after slowing down after a turn. It hesitates while the gas pedal is still being applied. Causing the vehicle to slow and other vehicles are forced to brake. The engine does not rev and the tachometer does not move. There are no warnings lights or vehicle notifications. After several attempts to bring it to the dealership, they are never able to replicate the issue. The OBD scans show no issues. It has never been a constant problem, however it remains as a "hit or miss" issue. Could be days of no problems and then popping back up every stop.

Within the last few weeks my 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport SUV has been experiencing few noticeable issues. 1st my vehicle doesn-??t want to start when I turn the key, I have to open the door close it then try again and it will turn over to start. 2nd recently driving on the highway my vehicle slowed all the way down and started jerking like it wanted to cut off. I would push my accelerator down as far as possible and it will still go slow and not speed up.3rd my vehicle is making a throttle/knocking noise and a blinking check engine light is on as well.

I noticed at roughly about 120,000 miles the vehicle started slowly consuming oil. Vehicle now consumes excessively at 1 quart of oil about every 800 to 1000 miles. Oil level needs to be checked daily for fear of further damage. I recently changed the oil on 3/12/23 and checked oil on 3/15/23 and vehicle was a half quart low.

We have always had our 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.0T serviced at our local Hyundai dealership in St. Cloud MN. All required maintenance has been done. Our vehicle has 68400 miles on it. We left MN for our winter home in Apache Junction Az after Christmas. We experienced loss of power and the check engine light came on. We were in the higher elevations of AZ and experienced blizzard conditions during this loss of power we barely made it to our destination due to this lack of power. Our vehicle is at a Hyundai dealership in Apache Junction AZ for 9 days counting with no back up vehicle. The dealership called us and said our vehicle has experienced engine failure. Now waiting on Hyundai. Very disappointed!!!

My 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe has a blown engine and will cost over $9000 to replace. Unfortunately my car is out of warranty at 120,000 miles. It has become known to me that this particular car, and thousands of others, has known problems with the engines. So much so, that a software update for a sensor was available in 2017, oil consumption issues and civil law suits have been highly publicized. I was never notified of the software update, which would have extended my warranty to 10 years and 120,000 miles. I was diligent in oil change and maintenence on my car yet of no fault of my own the engine needs replaced. I believe Hyundai has been aware of these defects and did nothing to rectify the company-wide problem, just hoping many cars would fall out of warranty first. I have been told that since I am not the original owner and the car is out of warranty it would cost over $9000 to replace the engine ( the Kelly Blue value on my car should be $8000- $9000). Additionally, recall campaign #953 would have likely recognized the engine issues, but I was never contacted by Hyundai regarding the recall, and just found out about it when my car was in for service.

My car Engine stopped working while I was driving to work. Middle of traffic was not safe and the safety of others was effected because my car was unable to move, it was a high risk dangerous situation. Problem was reported to mechanic as well as insurance company (geico) car was pushed by strangers into a nearby parking lot, which then I waited for a towing truck. The car was inspected by a mechanic who then told me to have it inspected by Hyundai and Hyundai has told me due to lack of maintenance my car stopped working and there is nothing they can do. I am insulted by the lack of concern Hyundai has had for what they have put me and my livelihood through. I am aware of the recall on these vehicles. Engine :2.4L I4 DGI DOHC 16V. The Engine light came on I had it diagnosed immediately-??I was told my cam shaft and knock sensors needed replacement, they were replaced. Engine light goes off for 24 hours until it comes back on and once it came back on my car couldn-??t go over a certain speed, and it died in the middle of traffic.
