The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH, the sunroof exploded while the shade guard was opened, causing shattered glass to fall inside the vehicle. The contact had not sustained any injuries. The contact pulled into the nearest tire shop and paid a fee for the shattered glass to be removed from the sunroof. The contact continued driving; however, she drove under hazardous conditions with the remaining part of the sunroof shuddering while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the sunroof needed to be replaced, and a fee was charged for the repair. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
