Will not start, engine does not turn over. Lights in console come on, radio display comes on, but the key does nothing else when turned in ignition. It started out as just some hesitation at startup, but it has gotten progressively worse, leaving us stranded in parking lots for up to an hour before it miraculously starts up as though nothing was ever wrong. Except for today, when the radio/backup camera display was dead. Took it to the dealer as it is under warranty. Have yet to find out what is wrong. Up until today, we thought it was a key fob issue, but now that the media display is shot, it has to be something more serious.
Update from May 17, 2018: Service has had my car twice in the last 3 weeks and cannot figure out why this is happening. They suggested I pick it up and drive it until it does it again, at which point video it and call them to come to me while it's malfunctioning. It happened again, but by the time the roadside assistance had set up a tow (which took an hour and three different reps on the phone...I have nothing good to say about their customer service), the car started right up. The dealer is hesitant for me to bring it back because they "can't duplicate the problem". I'm done...trading it in this weekend. It's a shame--the car is attractive and a comfortable drive, tech features are satisfactory and function well, but none of that matters when it leaves you stranded randomly in parking lots.
Your take-away from all of this should be avoid purchasing a Hyundai SUV at all costs.
