The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle was hesitating while accelerating. Additionally, there were exhaust fumes entering the cabin of the vehicle with white smoke coming from the exhaust pipe. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, but no failure was found. The contact retrieved the vehicle, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who later diagnosed that the engine had failed and needed to be replaced. No further information was available. The vehicle was not yet repaired. Also, after turning the vehicle off, the radio remained activated causing the battery to drain and the vehicle could not be restarted. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 139,000.

I believe it is a clock spring failure. The airbag light is on & the buttons on the steering wheel do not work. I searched it & have seen several posts of others having same issue. I really feel this should be looked into, cause this is highly unsafe to be driving around with what very well could be an airbag that doesn't deploy & could seriously hurt drivers. Also, the contact stated the vehicle uses 5 quarts of oil within a 2 week period.

MY ISSUE - When making turns at night with the low beam headlights on automatic and switching on the left turn signal the headlights go out for up to 30 seconds then come back on. this is very dangerous when driving in rural or low light areas. Possible headlight switch issue. TAKEN FROM THE INTERNET - I have a 2017 Hyundai Tucson and last year this problem only happened once, but now it has been going on for the past 3 consecutive days. If I have my headlights on or on auto and I use the left signal, the headlights turn off. Only the left, not the right. The display on my dash displays the lights going to off and back to auto or on when the signal has been activated and then stopped

I purchased my vehicle at 51,700 miles. Approx 2 months -??1,000-2,000 miles later my car went into limp mode and wouldn-??t exceed 20 mph. I also noticed that my vehicle was consuming 4-qts of oil every 1,000 miles since then and is experiencing engine failure. It-??s a safety hazard to myself and others as the car just shuts off completely while driving. Hyundai won-??t do anything about it. I have documents to show every oil change/maintenance on vehicle.

Oil pressure sensor failed allowing pressurized oil to leak both externally and also internally into the attached electrical harness. The oil that leaked into the harness traveled to the ECM. The repair shop personnel stated that the failure is not covered by the 10 yr 100,000 mile power train warranty but does possess a fire or electrical failure.

The warning light saying that the emergency braking system is temporarily disabled keeps coming on and off multiple times a day and it disables the adaptive cruise control when I an driving in cruise control. It happens while vehicle is in motion in all kinds of circumstances and weather and have taken car to dealer 3 times without any solution. Have tried cleaning sensors multiple times. Dealer has seen it happening twice in a 10-15 minute test drive documenting it. Hyundai consumer assurance has not resolved the problem either. It has been happening since December 2018. It was not happening at all for the first 14-15 months of ownership. It happens at various speeds.

The contact owned a 2018 (na) Hyundai Santa Fe sport. While driving 35 mph through an intersection, the power steering seized and a red steering wheel and exclamation mark illuminated. The contact was able to pull the vehicle over to the side of the road and it was towed to the dealer. The dealer (Hyundai of new port richey 3936 us-19, new port richey, fl, 34652) diagnosed that the vehicle was transmitting data to the steering mechanism; however, the steering mechanism was unable to read and correspond. The steering mechanism needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted and made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200.

Within days of taking delivery, the vehicle would take 3-4 seconds to accelerate from a stop, and would not fully accelerate until almost 10 seconds later, creating a huge safety issues for times when speedy acceleration (at intersections, close calls, etc.) was paramount. From there, the infotainment system glitched out and would not turn on until I restarted the car, and it had issues with voice commands intermittently, defeating the purpose of a hands-free device (once again creating more safety concerns). Most regularly, the vehicle would struggle so badly to accelerate from 0-40, and 50-60, and would redline, causing huge stress and strain on the vehicle's power train. Hyundai told me "this is normal" which it is not. This happened daily at intersections, back roads, and on highways--it did not discriminate. I had several near misses when the vehicle refused to accelerate. In fact, just today, I went to accelerate through a turn and had the gas pedal floored because it would not accelerate past 10 mph. It took a full 20 seconds to get up to speed. This has happened in all driving modes: Eco, normal, and turbo.
