problem #2

May 072023

Santa Fe 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,000 miles

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

Driving on the interstate the SantaFe lost rpm's and dropped down to about 1.5K rpms. Pressing the accelerator did not increase the engine rpms. Pulled over into the emergency lane and waited 2-1/2hrs for a tow truck to tow the car to the dealership. Waited abt 10-14 days before the dealership provided a loaner vehicle. After approximately 3 weeks, was informed the service department could not recreate the problem nor troubleshoot it. At that point the vehicle was returned. Problem Unresolved.

Santa Fe 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 6,000 miles

RPM's drop to ideal (1.5K - 2K) while driving on interstate. Cannot accelerate even though the engine is still running. Get a message to "Service engine immediately". Turned engine off and restarted. Was able to drive off as if nothing had happened. This is 2nd time for this to happen. Presently the vehicle is at the dealership.

Update from Jul 16, 2023: The Santa fe was looked at yesterday Friday. I was told that the accerator control needed to be replaced. A new one was ordered and in the mean time we were given a loaner vehicle. I was told parts ordered from their supplier is very slow, due to a lack-of/shortage of parts.
