Was driving home from work on the highway at highway speeds and suddenly lost the ability to accelerate with a "Check Hybrid System" warning. At the time of loss of power, I was crossing a bridge and got stuck in the middle of the bridge. I also notice the oil indicator light come on. The engine remained on as far as I can tell but it wouldn't go with the accelerator pedal pressed. I placed the car in park and turned off the vehicle while blocking bridge traffic. 15 seconds later, I turned the vehicle back on, vehicle said ready to drive. I put the car in drive and everything worked normally as best I can tell. Still nervous driving the car for fear of it happening again. Called dealer service but they were closed. What I don't understand is there was 2 recalls for Hyundai Sante Fe hybrids 2022 but when I put in my VIN it said no recalls. Why is it only associated with a VIN?

My vehicle made 3 ringing sounds and began to decelerate from 67mph to 0 in less than 2 minutes. I had to pull over quickly to avoid getting rear ended. This incident happened twice already. I took it in to the dealer and they were not able to recreate what happened. This occurrence happened 2weeks ago.

Middle of May 2024 car begins to feel like it's shifting when accelerating and stopping. Nothing found by Hyundai Service Dept. Lakeland. On apx. [XXX] while driving stepped on gas pedal and felt no power. Kept pumping the pedal & car started jerking. Managed to get to light and get in left lane to turn into plaza honking horn. Car slid to a stop at entrance. On apx. [XXX] my husband was driving home and same thing happened. Managed to slide car into our driveway. Both times the car had to be towed to dealership. Two fuel injectors have been changed and when I asked them to change other two they said warranty would not allow. Worst case scenario is if this happens on the interstate traveling at 75 miles per hour. Not only could we be killed but others. Both times there was no warning lights or any other warning. The car just started jerking and lost power. It can very well cause a car to rear end us and a multiple car chain reaction hurting or worse killing others. I am filled with anxiety every time I take the car out for errands. I also saw a similar incident reported in the Better Business Bureau here in Tampa by another person. I reported my incident to Hyundai Corporation by phone and email and asked the rep to reported it to her superiors to see if they could just please let the dealership replace my other two fuel injectors & I was told they could do nothing. The dealership has told me several times the injectors must fail before they can replace. Apparently, the cost of the injectors is more than someone's life. I was driving on the freeway when suddenly I heard a clunking sound. Suddenly I was unable to accelerate at all. My speed was 60 mph and I had the gas pedal pressed all the way to the floor. Nothing happened and my speed would not go over 60. Then a message began flashing on my dashboard. I cannot remember the exact verbiage, but something along the lines of Hybrid System Failure. My car began losing speed and I was unable to accelerate to make it go faster at all. I lost complete control of the speed control. I was in the middle lane of a 5 lane freeway and struggling to get over since I was unable to accelerate at all. It was an extremely dangerous situation as I could no longer control the speed of my vehicle on a freeway. Finally, I was able to exit to an off ramp. My car continued to lose acceleration and finally came to a complete stop on a side street. My car was then towed to the dealer and they are unsure what the issue is. On doing some internet research, I have found a lot of postings of people having this same exact issue with the Hyndai Santa Fe Hybrid 2022 and I think it's a dangerous defect in the car.

Ref NHTSA TRACKING # 11557625 Vehicle broke down again within 5K miles and 45 days of prior repair referenced in above case. Similar conditions, highway speed, bucking and vibrating, loss of speed control, no warning. Subsequent repair confirmed same issue (fuel injector) as original breakdown/repair and my initial notification to NHTSA.

Vehicle began to shake, buck and emit a grinding noise while traveling on highway resulting in loss of speed control and associated fear. Check engine light appeared simultaneously. No prior indication of a problem. Managed to limp to next exit via shoulder. Had car towed to dealer as warranty was still in effect. Problem was diagnosed as fuel injector failure and repaired. Learned it is a common, recurring issue with Hyundai 4 cylinder engine. Not unusual to have multiple failures per vehicle. Hyundai is only authorizing repair/replacement upon individual failures, not pre-emptive even though common and recurring. Confirmed this is a common, recurring issue across Hyundai via our local mechanic and internet info. Vehicle has now experienced a second failure and is being towed to dealer.

I had previously filed a complaint and received an issue number 11494975 I have not been able to retrieve any information related to this number. In any event I am constantly having problems with acceleration, stalling, the car puts itself in Neutral, and on occasion has completely turned itself off at a light or while driving. I do have a video of the acceleration problem and revived an email back from Laura Nelson. This is a very serious safety issue. Hyundai is not responding to following up. I also took it to an outside mechanic to put in the computer and got a general code so there is a problem somewhere. Thank you Susan Piller

Backed out of my driveway yesterday morning on way to work, 5/17/23. Driving down my street approx 15 mph to stop sign. As i approached stop sign I pressed on my brakes to stop and my car would not stop, it immediately accelerated and proceeded toward my neighbors house which was directly in front of me. I kept hitting the brakes and it would not stop. I was able to steer away from the home, went up the curb/lawn hit a couple of cable boxes and finally hit a pretty large oak tree on the same neighbors lawn. the car was still running on impact. Had major damage done to automobile (tire blow out/rim dented/front end damage) luckily i was in my neighborhood where the speed limit is 20mph. I had the car towed to Hyundai dealership and am waiting upon inspection and the result of what caused the accident. As of now they have not given me a diagnoses. they keep wanting to say it was driver error, which is completely incorrect. I did obtain a video from my neighbor which doesn't quite show what happened but the sound on the video you can hear the engine accelerate and than right after you can hear the crash impact. I do not want to drive this suv I do not feel safe whether they fix it or not.

We have owned a 2022 Sante Fe Hybrid for less than a year. Although we haven-??t had any mechanical issues until recently, I have been slightly alarmed at the number of recalls that have been fixed throughout the year. This week, our check engine light came on. We were able to drive it home and to our local dealership (Victory Hyundai in Jefferson, Ohio) for service. The problem was diagnosed as an accelerator sensor and I was told the parts have been ordered and an appointment would be scheduled next week to replace the sensor that is under warranty. I was also told that it would be safe to drive the vehicle home and around town for the next week. As I turned on the car to drive it home, I noticed the dashboard was lit up with multiple warnings that I have never seen before. I placed the car in drive with the hope that the warning lights would reset themselves. As I started to pull away, I noticed the gas pedal didn-??t respond and I was only able to go 4 mph. So, I stopped in the middle of the parking lot, turned the car off, and re-started it. The same issues were present, so I looped around the parking lot at 4 mph and parked it. I went inside to the service department to explain the situation and one of the workers who attempted to help me out by bringing my car around noted a similar experience when driving the car. They went back to discuss the issue with the technician who worked on my vehicle, but I never really received any kind of explanation. They gave me a loaner car for the next week.

Hi Team, Issue 1: unexpected Acceleration: Recently I found that is there is unexpected additional acceleration when I press gas pedal initially after changing gears from P to D. I am setting up an appointment with dealer to report and investigate this issue. My Car has only around 13000 miles on it. This issue was initially observed when one morning when i headed somewhere there is unexpected acceleration when I slightly press gas pedal. Issue 2: The Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) doesn't work properly when set to adaptive cruise control. It doesn't slow down /stop when getting close to cars parked at signal specially as slight curvy roads.

I was operating the vehicle at a rate of 35-45 mph while getting on a highway ramp. As I merged and attempted to accelerate, the vehicle downshifted into 2nd gear itself and suddenly dropped in speed. This same incident has taken place multiple times in the past two weeks. Today I was able to catch it on video.

3rd and worse instance where had loss of power. While trying to accelerate onto the highway my vehicle would not do over 30mph (highway is 60mph zone). No lights illuminated on dash that there was any issue. Impeded traffic until I could pull over. This was VERY dangerous, I was lucky to not be rearended while trying to merge on highway. Dealer has had my vehicle for a week not being able to reproduce event. No codes in computer and unable to locate any recalls.
