The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe. The contact stated that upon the start of her vehicle while at a gas station, the vehicle initially failed to accelerate upon the depression of the accelerator pedal. The contact repeatedly tapped on the accelerator pedal as the vehicle abruptly accelerated at a high rate of speed. The contact immediately depressed the brake pedal before crashing into a pole. The contact also stated that the same failure occurred while in a parking lot which resulted in the vehicle crashing into a handicapped parking sign which damaged the sign. A police report was not filed, the contact was not injured, and the contact was able to drive away from the scene. The contact then took the vehicle to the dealer where they diagnosed the vehicle with a transmission failure. The contact later discovered that the vehicle was placed under NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V746000 (Power Train) which she linked to her failure. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had been repaired under recall. The failure mileage was unknown.
