The car has been taken to the dealer multiple times for not accelerating out of 1st gear when starting up, and also for shuddering at high speeds. We have been stranded, hundreds of miles from home on 2 occasions, first with less than 30,000 miles because the spark plugs needed to be replaced. And the second occasion, also hundreds of miles from home, because the car failed on the highway and limped into a dealership, where one of the fuel injectors was replaced at approx 50,000 miles. The mechanic at this dealership voiced his concerns that these were the original fuel injectors, He said he was aware of the problem, but was only permitted to replace one of the fuel injectors. The car continues to shudder at occasionally, and refuses to shift out of 1st gear at odd times. We have tried to get Hyundai to replace the fuel injectors, but they refuse. I would like this to be serve as a record of our problems so that others can be aware of a problem that exists with these cars. This is a safety issue, as if the car will not accelerate on a highway or crossing a road, it is possible to have an accident. Also, having the car fail on a remote highway is also a safety issue.

While Driving home from work, the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid Vehicle's, Hybrid battery began to discharge rapidly, the Gasoline Engine did not start to charge the system, within 1/4 mile the Hybrid Battery fully discharged, and the Vehicle lost all acceleration, the Dash warning " CHECK HYBRID SYSTEM, STOP SAFELY " came on along with a loud audible warning beeping. I pulled off the road as soon as possiable. The Vehicle would not accelerate, and the gasoline engine part would not start. Several other warning lights illuminated, including the 12V battery low warning. I turned the Santa Fe off, and called Hyundai Roadside Assistance. While on the Phone with the assistant, as it was Night time, I couldn't see to check the VIN number for her I turned on the interior lights, then continued talking to the assistant. I attempted to restart the Vehicle, and it started the Gasoline Engine this time, we talked, and she suggested I see if the Hybrid Battery would now charge it's self, which it very slowly did up to 1/8 full, then I attempted to move the Vehicle to a safer location, a Gas station parking lot. I was able to drive the short 1/4 mile to the parking lot, but the vehicle had very little acceleration. Almost no power! At the parking lot I attempted to rev the engine to get more power to the Hybrid Battery, while waiting for a Tow Truck.

Ref NHTSA TRACKING # 11557625 Vehicle broke down again within 5K miles and 45 days of prior repair referenced in above case. Similar conditions, highway speed, bucking and vibrating, loss of speed control, no warning. Subsequent repair confirmed same issue (fuel injector) as original breakdown/repair and my initial notification to NHTSA.

Vehicle began to shake, buck and emit a grinding noise while traveling on highway resulting in loss of speed control and associated fear. Check engine light appeared simultaneously. No prior indication of a problem. Managed to limp to next exit via shoulder. Had car towed to dealer as warranty was still in effect. Problem was diagnosed as fuel injector failure and repaired. Learned it is a common, recurring issue with Hyundai 4 cylinder engine. Not unusual to have multiple failures per vehicle. Hyundai is only authorizing repair/replacement upon individual failures, not pre-emptive even though common and recurring. Confirmed this is a common, recurring issue across Hyundai via our local mechanic and internet info. Vehicle has now experienced a second failure and is being towed to dealer.

On 10/31 I loss power while on the freeway for the 2nd time since August. The car was assessed and fixed according to the dealership. My car threw a 2nd code which was cleared and not fixed due to not showing issues according to the dealership. I got my car back in mid November. I immediately complained that I still had a rough idle and was told my car was fine by the manager via service rep. On 11/28 my car loss power on the freeway again for the 3rd time since August. According to the codes, all my cylinders are failing one by one. This is a huge safety concern. The dealership could care less.

The issue with Hyundai 2.5 L turbocharged engines is getting a lot of exposure on-line. My story begins about a year ago with me complaining to the Hyundai service department about my 2022 Santa Fe Limited hesitating, lurching, and stalling (once) following acceleration from a complete stop, all without the Check Engine Light (CEL) illuminating (which the dealership said is needed to initiate troubleshooting). In addition, there is a common thread where dealerships are telling owners that it is "... probably bad gas." On 2 October 2023 the SUV started and was idling very rough, and as I drove off, the CEL illuminated (finally). After turning off the SUV for five minutes, it started fine with no CEL. My OBD-II code reader pulled three codes from the SUV that afternoon: P0300, P0301, and P0302 (Misfire - General, Misfire - Cylinder 1, and Misfire - Cylinder 2). The trouble codes should be sufficient for the service department to locate a problem, and to their credit I was placed in a loaner vehicle when I dropped the SUV off on 7 October 2023. So far (24 October), they have not identified a problem, even though there is a fuel injector Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) for multiple Hyundai vehicles (including my Make/Model/Year) that may or may not apply to my specific vehicle. Bottom line: The vehicle is unsafe to drive (as I told the service manager), has had this problem for approximately one year, and if the vehicle stalls when I am entering traffic it is not going to end well - not for me in a stalled vehicle and not for Hyundai after they had an opportunity to address the problem.

Vehicle check engine light came On while driving and vehicle began misfiring. Vehicle was in the shop and injector was found defective. Vehicle again had same issue but intermittently and wife would have to pull over and shut down the car to be able to drive it safely home. Dealership tried blaming bad gas which was purchased a mile from dealership. Within 50 miles vehicle began acting the exact same way and Hyundai dealership says injector needs replaced but blaming contamination not a known issue Hyundai has with injectors. Found multiple instances of same issue and same made up issue of contaminated gasoline even at the same dealership I went to. Faulty injectors make the vehicle unsafe when traveling at highway speeds on busy highways.

I have experienced a sudden loss of power when accelerating and then sudden vehicle slowdown and engine shutdown. Twice this occured at either hiway speed or accelerating to highway speeds. In both of these cases I easily could have caused or been involved in a serious crash. The third time happened on a city street and was not as egregious. There was no forewarning this might happen...no warning lights on the dash, etc. The vehicle is currently in a dealership service department after the last occurrence, and has been for five days with no knowledge of the current status. The prior times the dealership, Kolar Hyundai in Hermantown, Mn. has only cleared the error codes stored in the computer, but not identified a cause. The three times it was in the dealership were 2/15/22, 6/28/23, and 9/5/23. The second time it had to be towed in. The car currently has 9200 miles on the odometer. I am now afraid to drive it, as I consider the problem to be dangerous to my safety, as well as other vehicles. I have contacted Hyundai Customer Care, but received no response as of today.

I had previously filed a complaint and received an issue number 11494975 I have not been able to retrieve any information related to this number. In any event I am constantly having problems with acceleration, stalling, the car puts itself in Neutral, and on occasion has completely turned itself off at a light or while driving. I do have a video of the acceleration problem and revived an email back from Laura Nelson. This is a very serious safety issue. Hyundai is not responding to following up. I also took it to an outside mechanic to put in the computer and got a general code so there is a problem somewhere. Thank you Susan Piller

2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid. This incident has occurred twice at the time of this write up. Both incidents have happened on the first start up of the vehicle engine for the day in the early morning (on the way to work). The temperature outside was cool (10-35 degrees, Maine). On at least one occasion it had rained during the night before using the vehicle. It may have been damp on the other occasion as well. After about 3 miles of driving the vehicle it completely loses power. No amount of movement to the accelerator changes the sudden loss of all power. This is a hybrid and the battery gauge below charge/economy/power rpm area of the vehicle starts to completely and instantaneously drain to what would be zero had I not been able to pull the vehicle over and turn the vehicle off. At this point, on both occasions, leaving the vehicle turned off for a minute and then restarting the vehicle seems to alleviate the problem. The incidents have occurred about 2 months apart and since the vehicle turned 20,000 miles. I also feel like it takes more push on the accelerator to get the same response that I got on day 1 when I drove it off of the lot at the dealership. I also notice that the EV indicator light does not come on as frequently as it used to. It would always come on when coasting - and now sometimes it does not.

On Friday the 7th of April while driving about 40 miles/hr my car lost power in traffic. I pushed gas pedal all way to floor to no avail. Then I was able to get it to move at about 20m/hr for short distance and it cut out and engine lite on as well as a horrible smell like something was burning. It had to be towed into dealer.

I have experienced power loss soon after I bought the car in Dec 2021. While I was driving the car was going in a constant speed of 20 to 30 mph. However hard I pressed the gas, car felt not responsive. Reported this to the service center and was advised that this may be since car is learning my driving habit. Later in december 2022, received a recall 236 letter from hyundai which was mentioning an issue similar to the one I experienced. Took the car for recall and informed me that the software upgrade is done as per manufacturer recommendations. Now on March 28th 2023 while I took the car out in the morning, there was more smoke than usual. And the same issue happened again. The car was not going beyond 20 to 30 mph for around 6 miles. Reported the same to the nearest service center and booked an appointment after 2 weeks. Also sent a complaint to hyundai motors directly

My vehicle has been having intermittent cylinder misfires for about 4-5 months now. Initially, before I knew this was the issue, I didn't think much of it because the shaking that would occur was mild, but as it gradually worsened I knew there was a bigger issue. I will start my car, the check engine light will be on, and the car will shake very hard with acceleration throughout the entire drive. I know that it is a cylinder misfire because I will get an alert on MyHyundai app telling me that a DTC code has been detected, this is the code, "DTC P030100" (the servicing department confirmed this was the misfire code). I have come to learn that the car usually only populates the code when the issue occurs for consecutive trips. As this is an intermittent issue, there are times when I know that the car is misfiring during the drive (it is obvious), but I will not be sent a DTC notification. I have taken my car to the dealership 3 times for this issue with documented DTC codes for each visit. Upon my initial visit to get this seen about, my local Hyundai dealership changed the spark plugs and coil packs in an attempt to fix the issue (although the spark plugs should not usually need replacing at 20,000 miles). It was about 2 days until it started misfiring again. Since then, I have taken it back to the dealership twice because of this unresolved issue, but if the cylinders are not misfiring the day I take it, the issue is dismissed. I truly do not think they know or care to investigate the matter further. I have taken it to the dealership 3 times within the last 3 weeks regarding this issue. I have to imagine this is a safety issue as it can increase the chance of engine failure. Today was the 3rd visit, I picked it up and as I was told, "we saw the DTC code, but the cylinder was not misfiring when we looked at it, so we drove it around a good bit and no issues so the code was cleared".

This vehicle is a Hybrid and the issue is an on/off error message that states that the inverter coolant level issue. When I lift the hood and view the inverter coolant level it is at the same location as the car was delivered in (exactly on the high mark). I have contacted two separate Hyundai dealerships in my area and one choose not to respond and the other stated that they were aware of this issue but had no fix for it. I tried to purchase the inverter coolant from the dealer and they do not even have it in stock to sell even if the coolant level was low. They have admitted that they do not know how to fix it or what is causing this issue. It is all over the forums and Hyundai is doing nothing to address it with anyone. I have a feeling that Hyundai does not know what the issue is and I know that they are aware and making no attempt to repair or replace it. If something is important enough to have a warning light go off shouldn't it be replaceable or repairable. These cars are put out so quickly and not enough testing and dealer personnel are not trained on how to troubleshoot or repair. I purchased the vehicle for cash and if Hyundai cannot fix it I believe I should be able to return it as a defect and get my money back.

The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled. The check engine warning light was illuminated. In addition, the blue link feature failed to contact Law Enforcement as needed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 55,777.

The engine has had an oil leak since purchased new in 2021. This is a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe with 4 cyl turbo engine. The air filter housing is also saturated with engine oil and the air filter is about 1/3 covered in engine oil, resulting in minimal protection. The possibility of fire is very realistic.
