My family and I were driving on the interstate when we heard a pebble hit the window and immediately noticed a small chip in the windshield. This happened on a Sunday, so I was going to have it repaired on Monday morning. Monday morning I leave to go to work and there is a crack halfway across my windshield, and it has nothing to do with the little chip. Apparently a rock hit the top drivers side and it ran all the way down, then directly in my view all the way to the passenger side.
I've only had the vehicle for a week. I travel over 100 miles per day and something like this has never happened. There has to be something wrong with these windshields. Now I have to pay almost $900 to have it replaced. I'm completely livid.
Hyundai needs to make sure windshield glass is installed with proper product, where it doesn't crack while driving. Plus nothing hit ours. Come on now, here is a brand new vehicle not even a month purchased and something like this happens. Someone needs to correct this problem.
Has a stone strike bottom right center of windshield while going to grocery store on a Sunday morning. At first it was just a chip. About 40 minutes later when I came out of store, it had already turned into a 4" crack. The next morning it was about 8" long and turned back towards the middle of windshield. It has progressively grown longer and is now half way across windshield. Glass repair company has ordered OEM replacement but I still do not have it.
It is now almost (2) months and attempts to get Hyundai to respond to why order is taking so long have fallen on deaf ears. I have sent multiple complaint with no help or responses from them. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced from a car company. I have had about 4 rock chips on previously owned vehicles and never have seen a crack happen on this type of chip so easily and quickly. My first Hyundai and my last.
