My 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe has super excessive oil consumption. I think I had noticed it when we went to Invermere, BC, Canada after the year three from the purchase. When I measured it on a dipstick it has like a 2mm from the very tip I was shocked. Moving forward to 2022 the car survive but it's getting worser. The catalytic converter was plugged and some techs recommended changing the engine. The car drops the rpm to zero and it happened many times now but observed first on August 28, 2022. It has been diagnosed with the dealer found found nothing on the code. It was very scary because when you come at the stop sign on a T-intersection the vehicle hardly moves because it has no power.

We discover that we need to shut off the engine and the rpm goes back again. After so many times it happened and the engine fails 5 times last week the engine light to came in. The other dealership diagnosed it with the crankshaft position sensor failure and needs to be replaced. It cost me like CAD600 to replace it plus the diagnostic. After replacing the sensor the tech said that it still lacks power and suspect catalytic converter has a problem because it's plugged. They recommend to replaced it and quoted CAD2300. Yay! I want them to replace the engine. Emailed both dealer and Hyundai Canada, but no response. I will never buy again Hyundai and will share my experience worldwide.
