CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe has a problem with the engine stalling while driving. Both our data & the NHTSA's complaint data show a significant defect trend at low mileage.
In a 2-page letter to owners in August 2014, Hyundai claims the engine stalling only occurs under a "specific set of operating conditions".
However a class action lawsuit filed around the same time details multiple claims from Sante Fe owners that claim the engine stalling happens at any time, under any conditions.
while driving, when using the heater or ac ---you turn off the heater or ac ---a few minutes later it turns it self back on ---this can happen several times before it will remain off---this might seem small but it bugs me
It goes on really high all by itself, I bring it in and it won't do it. I tell the dealership what it is doing, they say they have to see it first, but geez believe me, this is what it does. Not the first problem, it is going to take time to get them all on there. The first time it did this it scared me and my daughter, if I had wrecked over this it could have been terrible, and does the dealership care??? ha !!

It is just ignoring. Turn it off, it comes back on. It can take many tries to get it to stay off.
Update from Jun 15, 2018: This issue has gone away with a new battery.
