Over the last 6 months or so my wife has complained about losing steering and her 2009 Santa Fe seems like the engine almost stalls when it happens. Well last Saturday it finally happened to me when I slowed to turn a corner. I doesn't last long but I did notice the battery light came on then went out and steering was back. I asked our local Hyundai dealer about it and they suggested that they have had harmonic balancers that the rubber separates but I marked it and haven't seen it move yet. So back to possible engine stalling to low enough rpm to effect steering but not dying. Hyundai better find the cause and do a recall before someone dies.
