This car is a beautiful car, drives extremely well and has some of the greatest safety features you can find in any car. But this being said, it can be the greatest car ever made, but if you can't stand to get into the car and drive anywhere due to the smell and literally makes you sick at your stomach and to the point of giving you a headache and brings you close to throwing up, none of the above really means anything and really doesn't do you much good!
The dealer was told by the manufacture that it was the headrest where the smell is coming from and the dealer has ordered new headrest that is suppose to cure this problem. This may be true and if it is, I'll be a happy camper.
The thing that pisses me off is Hyundai knew this was a problem prior to selling me this car, which I believe is a felony. You can't sell someone a new automobile that is defective without informing the buyer prior to the sale of the car. I will include a link below that I found on the internet dealing with this problem. Please note in this article, where Hyundai admits they know there is a problem and are working on a fix. (Working on a fix, are you kidding, and they are still selling these Cars!)
Please also note the date of the article is August 27, 2020 and I bought this car October 31, 2020 and no one mentioned anything to me about a smell problem in this car I was about to buy. I have no way of knowing if the dealership had knowledge of this problem or not. I mentioned the problem to the sales people before I drove off the lot when I purchased the car. They told me they thought it was just the new car smell and it would go away. After taking the car home and driving the car around for a couple of hours getting in and out of the car while shopping, my wife told me she could not stand the smell and it was making her sick, I had to please take her home. The smell gave both of us a headache and she almost threw up.

I've taken the car back to the dealership two times and they now still have it. They told me they were waiting on new headrest to come in to fix it and since we can't stand to ride in the car, they are keeping it to install what they believe will fix the problem. I also have a fear that if it is the headrest as they believe, have these headrest been in the car long enough to get the rest of the upholstery stinking as bad as the headrest. You know how if you go to dinner with someone who smokes and how your clothes the next day smells like smoke? Well, this is what I fear may have happened to this car. If this is the case, how will they fix the car then, strip out the upholstery and replace it?
