On 11/9/2021, warning lights appeared on the dash - Forward Collision, ABS, and Auto Hold and I felt a slight skipping when breaking after that. We took it to the dealership, they informed that it was a wheel sensor and nothing to worry about, however, they didn't have the replacement sensor and would have to order it but said the vehicle was safe to drive. I asked my husband to confirm that the vehicle was safe to drive as by this point the skipping in the breaks continued on occasion, accompanied by a slight skipping noise. The dealer confirmed the vehicle was safe to drive. I continued to feel and hear a skipping when breaking on occasion. While driving on 11/22/21, I was approaching a red light with one car in front of me. I attempted to slow down and my breaks were skipping heavily and then the breaks became hard to depress. I was pressing the breaks heavily and the vehicle wouldn't stop. Fearful that I was going to hit the car in front of me with just a few inches between us, I swerved into the other lane (same direction) without noticing that there was a car approaching behind me in that lane. If felt like my wheels weren't spinning as I slid onto the side of the highway. Thankfully, the car behind me was able to come to a stop - also within inches - without an accident occurring. I pulled into a parking lot and contacted my husband, who contacted the dealer. The dealer had my car towed back to the dealership. Upon dealer inspection, they insisted there is nothing wrong with breaks and said there was "failure to replicate" the incident. They again informed it is just the wheel sensor and that the breaks are fine. I am fearful to drive the vehicle after the last incident.
