When I first reported this a month after purchase as a new car, rodent damage was diagnosed. Charge for repair was $250.00. In June of 2021 a similar repair was diagnosed. Dealer requested $650 for the repair in addition to the $150 which had been paid for the diagnosis.
After checking it was found that Hyundai had been found to have faulty wiring made from soy-based material that attracts rodents.
I had a local certified mechanic reconnect wiring and cover the wiring in rodent proof tape at the cost of $280.00. However, the warning lights continued to show.
I requested that dealer find the reason for the warning lights and complete the repair at no cost since the cause was the faulty wiring.
Hyundai U.S. was contacted their response was to have the dealer compete the repair that the customer care center cannot authorize the repair.
I am requesting that the repair be completed at no cost since other legal challenges over the same issue have been completed and Hyundai has paid as a result of faulty wiring.
