Despite numerous reports to the Dealer and the Dealer's escalation of the problem no action has been forth coming from Head Office. My last discussion with the Dealer was how serious this matter is as the driver has to take his or her eyes off the road and a hand off the steering wheel to return the dial to the appropriate number. This being far worse than using a mobile or cell phone which is illegal.
This was also reported by the Dealer. I have spoken to a Hyundai Senior Case Manager in the last seventy two hours who stated that somebody would respond to me within 24 to 48 hours. This has not happened. I consider a waiting period of 6 months has more than held up my side of the deal.
Considering the very serious safety issues surrounding this fault and my inability to achieve any suitable response from Hyundai I will now research if in fact these vehicles should be considered roadworthy.
I was advised months ago by the Dealer that it was a known problem and only to the Kona.
Update from Jan 31, 2019: The seriousness of this issue became more real when last Sunday I had to go to the city, this required me to travel the motorway at 110Kph and drive in city traffic whilst attending to my wandering radio.
