Bought car certified used in June 2020, barely drove it for months due to quarantine. One hour into the first road trip I tried (3 hrs one way), the check engine light came on and soon the whole car started to shake like it was in a small earthquake. I managed to get the car to the nearest dealership. They didn't know how long it would take to fix it at first, so I rented a car from the local rental agency (which wasn't happy about renting a car to me with my dog in tow).
This was on Friday afternoon. I had to cancel the appointments I had made at my destination and reschedule. I didn't find out until Saturday afternoon what the problem was. The good news is that the warranty covered it, but it didn't cover the cost of the rental car. Since I didn't know when I rented the car how long I'd need it, I got it for 2 days - and by the time I was told that I wouldn't be able to get my car back until Tuesday, the rental car company was closed for the weekend. I tried everything I could think of to let them know that I was going to need to extend the rental without success. Eventually I Tweeted the company and someone answered. They could only put a notation on the file, though, and I still had to call again on Monday. I did get to my destination in the rental car and was able to get what I came for done, so that's something.
