Because my vehicle was technically outside of the 100k mile warranty, I was not able to have it replaced free. Thankfully Hyundai was still able to cover 80% of the cost, so I only paid $2,000 instead of the full $10,000.

The dealership I went to was a huge pain in getting the engine replaced, as I drove off the lot 3 separate times only to have my CEL come on less than a mile down the road. Took over a month total to get myself up and running again.

How is it possible that Hyundai recalls the Sonata, the Santa Fe, Santa Fe sport, Veloster, and millions of kia vehicles for rod bearing failure for model years 2012-2014 but a Hyundai Genesis with the same engine and same issue doesn't qualify for this recall when they have the same problems. Left me stranded Thanksgiving day and of course I'm 16000 miles beyond the factory power train warranty and my car apparently isn't included in the recall. F** You Hyundai. Last one of them I ever buy what a f joke
