On Interstate 95 heading south in North Carolina and hit a downpour, and I noticed the back end of the car started fishtailing. I slowed the car down to 50mph before the fishtailing stopped. The the AEB (Automatic Emergency Braking) alarm came on telling me to check the system. Once the rain lightened up and there was no running water on the road the AEB reset itself. I picked up speed to posted speed limit and no more fishtailing was noticed.
This happened a second time 8/23/20 on Route 29 in Virginia. Not a down pour but just enough rain to cause water to run across the road and it did the same thing fishtailing at 60mph had to slow to 50mph. The AEB did not alarm this time. In both cases the other cars on the road were still maintaining the speed limit. Tires on the car are Vredestein QUATRAC PRO 245/45-18 all tires have 5/32 of tread left.
This is the first car I have owned that has done this in rain.
