Genesis, Take Responsibility!!
I also have a 2006 Toyota Avalon with more mileage which developed the same problem in 2017. Toyota provided an extended warranty free dashboard replacement by the dealer to all Avalons and Lexus cars with this issue regardless of age. They realized that their soft "luxury" dashboard material develops crazy cracks after some years of southern use..
The Genesis material is similar and has the same problem, which gets worse and worse every month. It will negatively impact the resale value. As a premium brand, Genesis needs to stand by its owners if they want any brand loyalty. I like the car, but my next one won't be a Genesis if this is not fixed.
The Toyota dealer told me he was reimbursed by Toyota about $1800 for installing a new dashboard.
