Problem started with a whine in what seemed to be the drive train upon coasting from 60 mph down to 20 mph and a rought shift / lurch from first gear to second gear.. Took to Naples Florida Hyundai Dealer - one of the most unfirendly dealers I have ever encuntered,.Naples dealer blamed the whine on Dunlop tires and changed a module in transmission. trans shifted a little better for a while. Whine got worse- was not the tires.
At 32,000 mile the car developed a clunk in the transmission everytime you brake and then accelerate.
Took hte car to the Sarasota Florida Hyundai Dealear where I bought the car (CERTIFIED) - certifeid Hyundais are a JOKE! and should be cause for a law suite. Theydo not check anyting on the cars.
Sarasota Hyundai acknowledged the problem but said there is no fix for it and that it was normal. They pointed out that another Genisis in the shop had teh same issue. Yet when we drove a new loner it did not have the "normal" problem.
I have filed numerous complaints with Hyundai Corporate - a waste of time - they do absolutly nothing. I am fighting with the dealr to no avail. It is really an outrage. Will NEVER buy another Hyundai.Too bad beacuse it is a fairly nice car - but how can they justify a clunk in the trasmission.
Trully an outrage.
