Both front struts failed. (3rd time for right strut.)
Hyundai was charging us $8500.00 to replace both front struts. The right front strut had already been replaced twice! Extended warranty refused to pay anything, as they stated they had paid out the limit of what our car was worth. Our car is still on the lot. We looked into towing it to another repair shop. We can purchase a kit for about $1500 to change out the struts to regular shocks. This will certainly lessen the worth of the car. Of course, with all these issues showing up on CarFax, no one will want to purchase it anyway!!! So much for having a good luxury car!! Nothing but lots of problems!!!!!
Now the third time car has been in due to failed struts. Also had to install a new air compressor. Leaking struts caused the compressor to work overtime, burning it out.
Again, another tow to the dealership, paying extra to AAA for extra miles to tow to dealership. Dealership would not give us a loaner. We took the car in on 10/28/24. Got the car back on 11/19/24. Extended warranty policy did offer to pay up to $40/day for a rental.
The replacement part must have been faulty, as this strut had just been replaced 6 months prior. We were not charged anything. But we had to have the car towed in, as you could not turn the wheels. Had cost for extra mileage not covered by AAA.
Luckily, I knew as I backed out the driveway that something was terribly wrong! You could feel the front tires scraping on the wheelwells. I pulled back in and called the dealership. You have to have the car towed as you can't turn the wheel! Have AAA, but dealership far enough away we had to pay extra.
We did have an extended warranty so was only $100 to us. This was the first time!
After getting my car diagnosed at a certified Hyundai dealer, a leak was found in the driver side air strut and it was recommend to replace the other side as well. All at a cost of 4,103.96 us dollars which I thought was totally ridiculous. The cost of each strut alone is 1,700.00 for a car with just under 130,000 miles on it. This should not be happening.
After contacting Hyundai customer care, I was given a case number 11643258 in reference to getting some assistance in helping getting the issue resolved. In a few days customer care contacted me back with a denial based on a past warranty and said there was nothing they could do which I thought was ridiculous again considering the fact that I have a 2014 Equus. As a customer, Hyundai is not willing to take into consideration and stand by any of its motto customer satisfaction to help in this situation. If they would've indicated that they would pay for the parts and I pay for the labor I would've been satisfied. At this point, I will follow up this complaint with letters to Hyundai USA and the department of transportation.
