Have a 2011 Equus. Last week I was walking out to my car at work in the parking lot. It was lunch time.. The car was off and hadn't been driven for about 3 hours. I opened my drivers side door and a huge black cloud of smoke came out the car.. The mid console (where the usb and cigarette lighter) where located was on fire. Not thinking I poured Gatorade over it to extinguish the flame.. lucky i didn't get shocked or anything. The fire had went up to my sunroof and melted my sunroof and handle. the whole entire car inside had black burnt soot all over it. The insurance company is totaling the car out as we speak.. After this I have heard of Hyundai having this same problem with a few other there cars.. The tow truck driver who picked my car up says this is the 4th Hyundai he has gotten this year for this problem.. electrical fire.. I will upload pictures later.. There needs to be some type of recall . Hyundai needs to look into this..
