Driving home from work on Friday Oct. 28th my car lost control and then the front tires just stopped working. I was told that the lower control arms rotted through. I was told I am lucky to be alive. Taking the vehicle to Hyundai dealership on Monday. Hyundai needs to make good on this. I was never advised that there was a recall on this part. I have always taken care of my car. This should not have happened. With the driver seat anchors broken as well they are lucky I am not dead.
Update from Nov 1, 2016: Global Auto Mall has now inspected the vehicle they stated that in 2014 they put the wax on the control arms as part of the recall but in fact the control arms have corroded anyway. The control arm damage may have caused more extensive damage to the under carriage of the vehicle. I am still waiting to see if Hyundai is going to repair my vehicle. This was a safety risk and they should have replaced the control arms instead of putting a wax on them.
