Second Engine replacement, I got my car back from hyundai after the first engine replacement, and within 24 hours I had the exact same sound a second time. When I took it to the dealership, they told me the timing belt was loose because of a broken shaft and the engine flooded. It took another 3 months to get the next new engine.
Third Engine replacement on my Hyundai Elantra. Dealership then managed to ruin the catalytic converter and engine mount while installing the new engine, and told me there was no problems with the engine I just needed new struts. I got new struts and the engine still sounds like sh*t when I go over bumps so I'm replacing the engine mount myself. Hyundai Service department wont return my phonecalls.
My first Engine replacement. I got one oil change, and then the engine burned through all of the oil in a single day, and according to the dealership the piston rings shattered and then gouged the cylinders. It took 3 months to get the new engine from Korea.
Car developed a ticking/knocking sound coming from the engine at only 6,350 miles (6 months old). Noticed the thing was burning oil at an alarming rate, took it into service and was told the engine suffered a major malfunction in the engine and the entire engine will need to be replaced.
