CarComplaints.com Notes: We're not used to seeing any major problems with Hyundai, which makes the early signs of trouble with the 2013 Elantra very surprising, in a bad way.

Early trends show problems with the steering wandering / pulling to one side along with premature tire wear. Elantra owners have tried sensor adjustments, wheel alignments, even replacing axles, most with no luck. Hyundai has made vehicle buybacks through arbitration, but that rarely works out well financially for owners in the end.

Also there is a pattern of complaints about the 2013 Elantra brakes grinding at very low mileage. It seems there was a bad batch of OEM pads & rotors, but so far Hyundai is not doing a recall. Instead Hyundai issued a TSB & dealers have been replacing pads & rotors on a per-complaint basis.

The final straw is that for several years in a row, Elantra owners report significantly lower gas mileage than the EPA estimates, & there's a small trend of engine problems.

water leak on passenger side after rain or car wash

I am filing this complaint as I was told by the dealer that this was an unknown problem. since then I have seen multiple complaints about the same issue. The dealer had the vehicle for over a week and said they had washed the car with no problems. Two months later the problem has reappeared exactly like the first time. I will file a complaint on this new leak next.

The dealer Win Hyundai claims no knowledge of any other such problems on Hyundai autos. I have seen other similar complaints on this site.

So I see others are having the water coming in the passenger side were your feet would be. I was told it must be the AC drain is blocked. If that is the case, then why does it only happen when it is raining? This just confirms how dangerous this car is. What if this leakage causes an electrical short? Why is it leaking in the first place? How much damage is being done to the inside of the vehicle? Is there mildew growing inside the car that I cannot see? Is it safe to breath in this car? I have asthma and so do my kids. Did Hyundai even test this car on the road or in in-climate weather? I am sick of this vehicle. Actually I would not call this car a vehicle. It just keeps getting more and more unsafe to be in. I am calling Hyundai Canada to report yet another issue with this car and the ministry of Highways and Transportation. More people need to complain about this car to get anything happening and find help and a solution to this vehicles growing problems.

Every time it rained my driver floor board would be soaked. It started to smell moldy. Supposedly it was a leak in the sunroof. They supposedly fixed it.

Water once again puddled in the front passenger floor. Dealer now has car from 10/16 to the present, 10/28. Dealer has had the car for a total of 16 days and they still have not been able to repair the leak. I have lost total confidence in the dealer's mechanics, and than the car, since they just cannot fix the leak and due to being told too many lies. Now I am told the part that they need to fix the car does not exist in the world, that no other dealer anywhere on the face of the earth has the part and that the part has to made in Korea. Dealer said the sunroof frame which holds the glass is cracked. Would you believe that? I am at the end of all of this, no longer know what to do except get a lawyer.
