I have seen other complaints about the electronic stability control (ESC) on the 2012 Hyundai Elantra and it is exactly what we experienced with ours. After a lot of back-and-forth with Hyundai (both corporate and the dealership), they finally had their technicians diagnose the issue (99% sure) as being a faulty yaw rate sensor which fooled the ESC into believing the car was losing control when it wasn't. I am writing this so others with this problem can now (hopefully) get their issues fixed before someone gets seriously hurt. We love the car other than this one scary issue.
