Transmission Failure
2011 Hyundai Elantra
This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Hyundai dealer.
CarComplaints.com Notes: So far the 2011 Elantra doesn't have the same volume of transmission problems that 2010 owners are fighting with. It also doesn't have the same pattern of steering and braking complaints that are piling up with the 2013 model year.
We're not saying the 2011 is perfect -- I mean, what were they thinking advertising their MPGs -- but there are worse choices.

After only 1 week the car wasn't shifting from a stop to1st and 2nd gear, no engine light. Only had about 500 miles!
I was told that it needed a brand new transmission. I lost the car for 2 weeks! Now I have about 2500 miles and it is very rough! Does not shift smoothly from a stop position to 1st or 2nd gear. Test drove a new one and it was GREAT! Complained to Huyndia themselves and was told I would get a call back - NEVER DID! Also not getting anywhere near the 40 mpg. VERY VERY disappointed.
Anyone else experiencing transmission problems?? If so what can I do? I am calling the dealer back tomorrow!! Also where the rug meets the plastic under driver door is coming out!! Very disappointed - because I love that car!!!!!!!
