CarComplaints.com Notes: So far the 2011 Elantra doesn't have the same volume of transmission problems that 2010 owners are fighting with. It also doesn't have the same pattern of steering and braking complaints that are piling up with the 2013 model year.
We're not saying the 2011 is perfect -- I mean, what were they thinking advertising their MPGs -- but there are worse choices.

The contact owns a 2011 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated that the vehicle would stall intermittently and the engine warning light would illuminate on the instrument panel. The dealer diagnosed that there was a crack in the hose, causing gasoline to leak onto the ground. The failure recurred numerous times. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but denied any assistance with repairs to failure. The failure mileage was 300 and the current mileage was 3,300.
The contact owns a 2011 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated that while refueling, the nozzles automatic shut off device failed to operate properly and as a result, fuel leaked onto the ground. In addition, fuel also leaked into the rear trunk area. The dealer was made aware of the failure. The contact planned to notify the manufacturer of the failure as well. The approximate failure mileage was 3,800.
