CarComplaints.com Notes: So far the 2011 Elantra doesn't have the same volume of transmission problems that 2010 owners are fighting with. It also doesn't have the same pattern of steering and braking complaints that are piling up with the 2013 model year.
We're not saying the 2011 is perfect -- I mean, what were they thinking advertising their MPGs -- but there are worse choices.

My car caught on fire after shortly after being put in park and leaving the car in a shopping center parking lot. Me and my son had not entered the store we were going on when we saw smoke coming from the rolled up windows. Shortly after that, there were flames coming from the window.
At this point the insurance company has not looked at the car but will in the next 5 days.It was suggested that I get the car towed to my house so that it won't be destroyed until full investigation complete. I'm sure I owe more on the car then the Blue Book Value. Does anyone have any suggestions? Heeelp, nightmare!!
I am shocked to see this has happened to others and no recall. My Elantra didn't catch fire from the engine, may have been the sunroof??
Update from Apr 13, 2014: I would like to attach pictures when available to do so.
