we bought this car brand new in 2009, and have only 115,000 km on it. We have had 4 re-calls, and now the steering linkage, which I understand is an issue with the Elantra. It wears out prematurely. Not impressed. The car has cost us 4,000.00 over the last 2 years due to premature part wear, that should last 200,000 km or more. I used to own a 1994 Olds Cierra, and never replaced the struts, or the steering linkage the whole time we owned it(15 years) Not impressed with Hyundai. Will not be back. I have had all recommended service done on the car, and every time we visit, another issue creeps up with the car.
Update from Oct 26, 2016: this is actually the rack and pinion assembly I am replacing.
