My wife was driving our 12 year old Elantra (2008) w/ 78k miles in overall good condition as the rear driver side control arm came crashing down. The subframe rusted through. Car passed state inspection 2 months ago (well, that probably doesn't mean much). Luckily, she was going slow and no one got injured. I was driving with our 3 year old on the highway doing 70 miles an hour that same morning. Can't imagine what would have happened. Apparently excessive corrosion is a known problem for certain Hyundai's of similar age. Well, the car does not get my 'seal of awesome' as it nearly killed us. Never again, Hyundai.
