The contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Elantra. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times for stalling while driving between speeds of 35 to 40 mph. The dealer replaced the spark plugs wires, and the cylinder. The repair did not correct the failure. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who replaced the original transmission after the vehicle rolled backwards when the gear was in the park position. The dealer was unable to diagnosis or duplicate the failure. The dealer replaced the transmission three times. The manufacturer was contacted and a report 3973939 was filed. The manufacturer stated that the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure; therefore, they could not assist him. The failure mileage was not available. The current mileage was 45,000.
When driving my 2007 Hyundai Elantra SE in 3rd gear (auto transmission), the 3rd gear indicator light intermittently flickers, causing the transmission to momentarily shift into 4th gear. Took car to dealer 3 times and hma had an engineer look at the car; replaced a gearshift pin switch and instrument cluster and vehicle still has the same problem. Hma claims that there is no problem with the car. Car can abruptly shift between 3rd to 4th and back to 3rd gear as light flickers due to the electrical problem.
