My car key gets stuck in the ignition. Conveniently, it started after the 18 month period for lemon laws in my state. I know you must push the key in and turn to release the key. It just won't turn. The dashboard lights go out except for the clock. The dealership wouldn't take care of it until they could re-create the problem. Fortunately this occurred during routine maintenance.
Unfortunately, they didn't fix it. The key still gets stuck. I have to put a towel over the steering column to hide the stuck key and always have my spare in the car. I also put the Club on the steering wheel to dissuade would-be crooks. The dealership supposedly replaced some electrical component for the ignition but it didn't work. Now they just shrug their shoulders at me and say they won't do anything more for it. They say Hyundai HQ in S. Korea won't reimburse them if they do anything more.
The HQ in California isn't any better. When I mentioned their warranty to one of the Korean customer service representatives, they said it was limited and that the warranty on the website is wrong. Because I complained to them, they punished me by downgrading my roadside assistance to only two and I'll have to pay for the rest. Thanks Hyundai. I'll never buy from them again and have told everyone who will listen how bad a company Hyundai is.
