Bad news was the right rear wheel bearing, went from normal to loud constant noise from one second to the next. This happened at 73,000 miles of in town driving. The good news was the repair was simple and done by myself after watching how to do it on you tube. The bearing is part of a hub assembly. You replace the entire assembly. Parts cost varies but I paid $100 to try to get one that will last for a good while.
When my first problem arose from my new car, I attempted to use my fantastic warranty to make the repairs needed. After leaving my car with the dealer for the day, I was informed that my wheel bearing was "burnt up". The warranty would not cover this because it was caused by the rotor heating up due to bad brakes. The brakes were replaced several months ago. Several mechanics have also told me that the rotor can in no way affect the bearings. The dealers will come up with any reason to avoid warranty work. Warranties should be printed on toilet paper because all they are good for is wiping your ass. The $1060.00 repair estimate given was repaired for $ 55.00 /bearing, and $45.00 / machine press. I did the work myself so I figure Hyundai owes me $ 960.00 for the labor. It seems that's what they were charging me.
